The Management and Board of the Sierra Leone Roads Authority (SLRA) has met with the Executive Management Board of the Sierra Leone Police (SLP) to discuss ways to strengthen collaboration between the two institutions for the effective management of the national road network.
The meeting was held on Wednesday, November 15, 2022 at the Sierra Leone Police Headquarters at George Street in Freetown.
While speaking on the purpose of the meeting, the Director General of SLRA, Ing. Amara Jambai Kanneh, congratulated the Inspector General and other ranks in the SLP that were recently promoted.

Ing. Kanneh spoke about the relevant role of the SLP in the management of the national road network and emphasized the need for the two institutions to strengthen collaboration. “We are in charge of the Engineering aspect of the road and the SLP is in charge of enforcing laws including those that protect the road assets,” he explained.
The Director General reiterated that the management of the national road network requires partnership and that the SLRA cannot succeed without the support of the SLP.
The SLRA and SLP further discussed issues relating to the general condition of the national road network, road safety and threats to the road assets.
The Inspector General of the Sierra Leone Police, Mr. Fayia Sellu, commended the approach of SLRA and reaffirmed the commitment of the SLP for continued collaboration.

He assigned the Director of Traffic Management, Assistant Inspector General Brima Kanneh as a liaison between the SLP and SLRA.
