Donor Funded Projects

The Sierra Leone Roads Authority accomplished a number of projects/works during the period 2012 to-date. The donor funded projects/works accomplished include the following:

A. On-going Projects
Currently, the Sierra Leone Roads Authority is monitoring the implementation of Donor Funded Projects and new Studies. Some of the Donor Funded Projects include:
• Rehabilitation of Tokeh –Lumley (Phase III) highway Project – 28km
• Rehabilitation of Matotoka – Sefadu road Project – 120km
• Rehabilitation of Moyamba – Moyamba Junction road Project including the construction of Magbele, Mabang, Gbangbama and Moyamba Town bridges -36km
• ehabilitation of Bandajuma – Mano River bridge Road Project including the construction of Sewa bridge, Bandajuma bridge and Moa (Bandasuma) bridge – 105km
• Rehabilitation of Hillside Bye-Pass road Project (Phase 11) – 2.2km
Total = 291.2km

B. Completed Projects
The Sierra Leone Roads Authority has successfully supervised the completion of the following Donor Funded Projects:
• Rehabilitation of Hillside Bye-Pass road Project (Phase I) – 1.5km
• Rehabilitation of Lungi – Port Loko road Project – 62km
• Rehabilitation of Feeder Roads in Kono and Bonthe Districts under the Infrastructure Development Project – 306.5km
• Rehabilitation of Feeder roads in Kenema (176km), Kono (100km), Kailahun (120km) and Koinadugu (104km) Districts under the Rehabilitation and Community Based Poverty Reduction Project-500km. Under this project, 30m bridge was rehabilitated at Mannah II along the Kabala – Krubola road in the Koinadugu District.
• Widening of seven bridges along Masiaka – Bo highway
• Rehabilitation of Lumley beach road and Rue de la Paix road Project – 11km
• Mitigation works at Tengbeh town and Moyiba town
• Rehabilitation of Regent – Kossoh Town road Project – 11.26km
• Rehabilitation of Freetown- Conakry highway Project – 76km
• Rehabilitation of Masiaka- Bo highway Project – 148km
• Rehabilitation of Bo-Kenema (65km) and Makeni- Matotoka (35km) Highway Project – 100km
• Rehabilitation of Kenema – Pendembu Road Project – 86 km
• Rehabilitation of Makeni – Kabala road Project( Phase 1) – 120km
• Reconstruction of the Regent – Grafton Highway – 11.26km
Plus five (5) bridges Project Total = 2,030.52km

C. Proposed Projects/Studies
The Government of Sierra Leone through the Sierra Leone Roads Authority has also negotiated a number of Studies/Projects with Donors and the implementation time tables
are being finalized. Some of these Studies/Projects include the following:
• Rehabilitation of Pendembu – Kailahun road Project – 28km
• Reconstruction of Kailahun – Koindu – Guinea Border/Liberia border Road -75.34km
• Construction of Kabala – Krubola – Guinea border Road – 96km
• Construction of Sefadu – Komba Yendeh – Guinea border Road – 78km
• Reconstruction of Kenema – Joru – Zimmi Road – 92km
• Construction of flyovers within Freetown at strategic points
• Feasibility study of a coastal road from Cline Town – Murray Town – 13.9km
• Rehabilitation of Bo – Bandajuma Road Project – 46km
Total = 429.24km
